2024

Looking ahead to 2024 the A&R at Rated Records (with the permission of the label owner, has taken the decision to start releasing weekly). This topic raises a lot of points for debate.

Firstly, it is noted that many people fear that this turns a label into a music factory, just churning out tracks to make money and not caring about the quality of what is being released. At Rated Records we can assure that this has been considered, and the fact remains that we are simply receiving more incredible, high quality music than we have space for. Releasing fortnightly allows for 26 releases per year, we have a gang of committed, hard working artists at Rated that would fill these slots alone, where is the room for growth as a label?

The other point discussed frequently is what about time to promote tracks. So here is what has been discussed. There is a lot of talk on social media around spamming, the same relentless posts over and over. It is our belief that giving the release artwork and promo videos to the artist 2 weeks prior to release to start promoting themselves gives the hype a chance to build, with the label pushing the release hard for 3 days prior and 3 days after the release.

This is to be done on a trial basis, but we would love to know your thoughts as artists and / or consumers of music.

How much high quality Trance is too much?

Would you be put off by a label releasing weekly?

Let us know.

It's about quality, if the musical quality is there it's a great idea.
